Shelby Marcoccia is a Master's level registered social worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
Shelby is a registered social worker with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Social Work Degree, and a Master of Social Work Degree with a health specialization. She has also received additional training in trauma-informed practices and holds a Trauma Certificate from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Since 2018, Shelby has been working as a social worker and counsellor, gaining valuable experience with children, teens, adults, families, and couples. Her background includes roles in a non-profit counselling setting, private practice, and Alberta Health Services, along with several years in public service before transitioning to the social work field.
Shelby's has worked with a wide range of populations, cultures, and backgrounds. She has a particular interest in working with individuals experiencing depression and anxiety symptoms, grief, loss, relationship concerns, struggles with healthy eating patterns, and a history of traumatic experiences.
Shelby takes a warm and personable approach as a registered social worker when working with her clients. She will collaborate with you to understand your unique needs and goals in choosing the most effective therapeutic approaches. Shelby strives to find a balance in helping you process past issues while also equipping you with realistic coping skills for current struggles.
With training in cognitive behavior therapy(CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), play therapy techniques, the Gottman Method, emotion-focused therapy, and being qualified to provide Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Shelby is dedicated to supporting your journey towards healing.

Joanna MacGillivray is a registered social worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers, currently completing her practicum for her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
Joanna is originally from Nova Scotia and moved to Alberta in 2008. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from St. Francis Xavier University and a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of Calgary.
Joanna has been a social worker since 2014, She has over 11 years of experience with Alberta Health Services in the mental health and addictions field, helping individuals navigate life’s challenges within the healthcare system and through community resources. Joanna also has experience in private practice where she provided counselling to adolescents, teens, adults, couples, and families.
Joanna is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families manage anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, emotional challenges, and more. As a wife, mother of boys, and a proud sports mom, Joanna understands the balancing act that comes with motherhood and the importance of mental health for both individuals and families.
As a registered social worker, Joanna believes in the powerful connection between mental and physical well-being. Her personal fitness journey has helped her understand how exercise and fitness can enhance mental health, and she incorporates this understanding into her counselling services.
Through her experience, Joanna has developed knowledge in evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy, while also utilizing strengths-based and family system approaches.
Joanna is available in person and virtually on Monday, Tuesday, and some Saturdays.
